Nicolas Favresse
Qu'il s'agisse d'un grand massif dans un environnement alpin ou de deux mouvements sur un petit mais délicat rocher, ou d'un morceau sur sa guitare, Nico adore "le rock" sous toutes ses formes. Pendant les vacances d'été en famille à l'adolescence, l'activité préférée de Nico et de des frères était d'explorer les grottes le long de la côte méditerranéenne. Pour passer d'une grotte à l'autre sans nager, ils devaient grimper au-dessus de la mer. Assez rapidement Nico et ses frères ont échangé la découverte de grottes pour leur nouveau jeu favori, le deep water soloing.
Après avoir fréquenté l'université de Freyr (le lieu d'escalade le plus important de Belgique) où il a appris et perfectionné sa technique d'escalade "old school", "low angle" et "sandbagged", son univers de grimpe s'est ouvert beaucoup plus loin lorsque Nico et
Sean Villanueva sont allés à Yosemite. Là, il a découvert son véritable appel: trad, big wall, être un "dirt bag" et jouer de la musique en parois. Depuis, Nico a voyagé à travers le monde à la recherche de son Saint Graal: des big walls vierges! "Pour moi, me défier dans l'escalade est un moyen de me connecter à la nature, l'escalade m'amène dans de beaux endroits, cela m'inspire à repousser mes limites dans la grimpe mais aussi dans la musique, fait qui m'apporte un sentiment unique de connexion.”
